Belgians are mourning the death of Queen Fabiola.
The only unmarried child of a wealthy Spanish aristocrat, she was working as a nurse in Madrid when the Belgians despatched a nun to find a wife for the religious and unmarried Belgian king, who had come to the throne in 1951.
Fabiola was selected and eventually agreed to marry King Baudouin, in 1960.
They proved a popular couple, but the marriage did not produce an heir.
Baudouin died in 1993.
Fabiola died at age 86.
