Vandals have desecrated a war memorial in Wollongong just a day before an annual Anzac memorial.
The Corrimal war tribute was sprayed with offensive graffiti and a chunk was knocked out of a granite pillar on Saturday night.
The graffiti - scrawled just a day before annual Anzac commemorations - reads "Scab Eater ... No tears for dead soldiers."
