Wellington City Council's looking at its options, after a well known sculpture in Evans Bay was blitzed by lightning.
The Zephyrometer was struck by lightning in a storm that rolled in early yesterday afternoon, bringing with it hail, thunder, and the damaging lightning.
Council spokesperson Richard Maclean says council will contact artist Phil Price, and work out how to possibly replace the sculpture.
He says the windwand had been restored back to pristine condition at the beginning of this year.
