The gap between Labour and National is closing in the lead-up to the election but at a snail's pace.

The latest Colmar Brunton One News poll sees Labour leading National by 14 percent on 47.

National's picked up two points to put it on 33 percent, with ACT continuing to creep up, securing 8 percent.

The two parties combined sit on 41 percent, meaning Labour are still the favourites to govern after the election.

The Greens have also picked up one percent, and are sitting on 7 percent.

The loser in the latest poll is again New Zealand First, which has halved its rating from the last poll to put it on 1 percent.

Jacinda Ardern's popularity remains unchanged on 54 percent, but Judith Collins has picked up five percent to sit on 23 percent.

Ardern also has a 50 per cent approval rating, compared to 17 for Judith Collins.

Last night, Newshub's Reid Research poll showed Labour on 50.1 percent, while National was languishing on 29.6 percent.
