The Marlborough District Council and Police are meeting today to review the safety of the Taylor River when it's in flood.
Last week, a 12-year old girl was rescued from the river when she tried to cross it when it was in flood.
Council Assets and Services manager Mark Wheeler says warning signs are put in place during floods but extra bollards and chains might be needed.
He says it's easy to misjudge the water level and get into trouble because even when rain doesn't seem that heavy in in town rainfall upstream can bring floodwaters through town.
