Police investigating a crash on State Highway 1 south of Blenheim last night believe an officer may have been at fault.

The incident happened around 7:30 near Dead Man Stream, involving a police patrol car and another vehicle.

Marlborough Area Commander Inspector Simon Feltham says nobody was seriously injured, but the female passenger in the car was taken for a medical check up.

A serious crash investigation is underway.
