
Recovery work is well-underway on the Northland farms damaged by last month's flooding.
Many farmers are fertilising and re-seeding their properties in the hope of restoring damaged pastures.
Dairy NZ regional leader, Tafi Manjala says sowing this early in the year can be risky.
"There's the odd farm where we've been to where things are still quite wet and sticky and the risk is that the seeds could rot."
Mr Manjala recommends farmers seek advice from seed suppliers before sowing their land.
