
A new honey factory is being touted as good news for regional New Zealand.
Manuka Health has opened a new $10 million processing plant in Te Awamutu.
Taranaki King Country MP Barbra Kuriger says it shows small regional towns can house big businesses.
"For the town this is its jobs, its vibrancy. It's just fantastic to be able to have it in Te Awamatu."
Manuka Health CEO Kerry Paul says the region has a good supply of people with food processing skills.
"So in Te Awamutu it's an excellent location in relation to the rest of the North Island. It's fairly central."
