The Western Force's billionaire backer Andrew Forrest is launching a rebel competition.
Less than an hour after the decision by the New South Wales supreme court to dismiss the Force's appeal against their Super Rugby axing, Forrest said he will fund a Indo-Pacific competition.
Forrest is vowing to take the case for Super Rugby inclusion to the Australian high court, but with the chances of the decision being overturned now slim, he wants to set up a new six-team tournament.
He said "it will involve key countries across the Indo-Pacific region who have approached us or have already publicly stated their deep conviction to rugby if they could be included in a Indo-Pacific arena."
