New Zealand Cricket has got the go ahead to host the country's first day-night test in March next year.
Eden Park's application for resource consent has been successful, with the Black Caps to now face England under lights in the first test, starting March 22.
New Zealand Cricket chief operating officer Anthony Crummy said the day-night time-frame will make the test more accessible for fans.
Crummy said this is a very important outcome for test cricket lovers in New Zealand – simply because it allows them the opportunity to play the game at a time when more people can engage with it.
Hours of play for the day-night test are expected to be from 2pm-4pm, 4.20pm-6.20pm and 7pm-9pm.
