The inquiry into the appointment of Police Deputy Commissioner Wally Haumaha has been extended, by five weeks.
Internal Affairs Minister Tracey Martin says inquiry lead Mary Scholtens, QC asked for the extension ... to allow more people to be interviewed than originally anticipated.
The inquiry was expected to report back within six weeks of it starting on August 6.
It will now report back by November 2.
