Central Otago has a new mayor after lawyer Tim Cadogan ran away with the victory.
Cadogan received 5047 votes according to progressive data based on about 98 per cent of returned votes.
That was twice as many as nearest rival Tony Lepper (2521).
Martin McPherson received 986 votes.
