Epsom's new MP is raring to get on with the job of representing his electorate.

David Seymour has retained the seat for ACT, but the party fell short of getting any more MPs into parliament.

Mr Seymour says it's disappointing because they've tried every strategy out there.

He says his campaign was to be the best possible local representative for Epsom and to enable a centre right Government in Wellington, and his door will be open on Monday.
