Jacinda Ardern has nothing but ringing support for her Deputy party leader.
Kelvin Davis has earned ridicule for his fumbling performances in Parliament when representing the Prime Minister.
In an interview over the weekend, Davis says he'd be happy to stand aside if anyone wants his job.
Ardern says it speaks a lot for the man.
"He is a politician who doesn't have any ego. He is in politics for all the right reasons. And that makes him incredibly good at what he does, he represents people really well, and he supports me as deputy leader really well as well."
The Prime Minister says that she is not looking to replace him any time soon.
She says Davis has nothing to worry about when it comes to his in-house performances.
"That is one tiny part of the job, and again, I think it is a part of the job that I thrust whoever's available at the time when I'm away. It's never an easy job, but he has always done that job really robustly for me too."
