The Prime Minister's office has taken the unprecedented step in releasing text messages between John Key and Cameron Slater on Monday night.
The release comes after Mr Key was forced to clarify in the House this evening that he had received what he referred to as "unsolicited" texts from Mr Slater.
Mr Slater's texts claim Labour MP Phil Goff leaked the content of a report into the SIS, and claims the Labour Party employs bloggers from left-wing website The Standard.
Mr Key responded by calling the leak "a joke", and that "hopefully it all comes out in time".
