
As the government's promised surplus fades from view, the Greens are anxious to make sure other pledges are still on track.
The government has already admitted it won't meet its promise to deliver a surplus and Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei is worried at the lack of any mention of another pledge - to tackle child poverty.
She says it needs to still be a major part of the Budget, when it's released later this month.
"Now that the surplus is out of the picture and the country will be in deficit yet again, I'm very concerned that they will make no allocations for child poverty."
