Labour is saying no the the Green Party's position on the Waihopai spy base.

With the GCSB and spying back in the news, the Greens have re-committed to their position of having the facility shut down.

It's not an option Labour Leader David Cunliffe supports.

"That is not our position and we are not saying we would withdraw from Five Eyes.

"What we have said is that we think the Five Eyes arrangement must be within the scope of the thorough and far reaching review of our intelligence community."

While the furore of potential GCSB spying builds, the opposition is questioning the Prime Minister's honesty

Labour Leader David Cunliffe says it's for the Prime Minister to assure the public that isn't the case.

"I remember very well the Prime Minister saying that there would be no surveillance of New Zealanders without a warrant full stop.

"We invited him to place that in law and he refused. Perhaps now we've learnt more about why."
