The Finance Minister's saying neither yes nor no when asked if he'll veto Labour's paid parental leave legislation.
Labour MP Sue Moroney looks as if she will have the numbers to pass her Member's Bill that extends paid parental leave entitlements to 26 weeks.
The Government has the power to veto it on financial grounds if it chooses, but Bill English isn't making his intentions explicit.
He's waiting to see what Parliament does with Sue Moroney's legislation.
"The veto is there to make sure that Parliament doesn't get carried away with tax payer's money. This is a pretty expensive bill but we've yet to see how parliament deals with it."
