The bowel cancer screening age is lowering to 56 by the end of September.
$45 million of funding expands services and funds more than 800,000 new screening kits - and more health workers.
$12 million of that funding goes towards infrastructure and equipment to allow for more colonoscopies.
Health Minister Simeon Brown says the Government remains committed to lowering the age to match Australia, but says the health system needs capacity to do so.
Lowering the age to 56 will make more than 200,000 more people eligible for screening.
