The Opposition's demanding the Prime Minister provide answers as fresh revelations are made about the ongoing Todd Barclay scandal.
Allegations have been aired in Parliament today that the recordings in question contained details critical of Mr Barclay's behaviour, including references to sex and drugs.
Labour Leader Andrew Little questioned Bill English on the matter in the House this afternoon, but Mr English wouldn't give any further answers.
Mr English said: "I have no comments to add to what comments have been made.
"If the Police reopen an investigation, I will co-operate with it."
Mr Little said if complaints about Mr Barclay's conduct were made to the National Party board and no action was taken, then it does reflect on the party's leadership.
"I think it would be helpful for New Zealanders, and confidence in the government and ministers, for the Prime Minister to be totally up front about his involvement and everything he knows about this matter," said Mr Little.
Winston Peters also weighed in, with the New Zealand First leader asking for the Prime Minister to step down over his involvement in the Todd Barclay scandal, saying it's not the first time Bill English has been caught up in something dodgy.
