The Government will receive some extra scrutiny this week of how it distributes aid to other countries.

Norwegian, Irish and NGO officials will be involved in the four-yearly OECD peer review of our foreign aid programme.

Oxfam's Rachael Le Mesurier says it will make sure taxpayer dollars are being put in the right places.

She says NGOs work alongside Government to make sure the aid projects are effective, and taxpayer dollars are being efficiently spent.

New Zealand will have a right of reply, before a final review is published.
