A young child has died in a water-related incident at a property in Napier.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Neal Crescent in Onekawa on Friday afternoon.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they received a call at 1.07pm and one ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.

A police spokesperson said a young child had died. The circumstances of the death would be determined by a coroner.
