A win for anti-fluoride campaigners in Hastings.
The District Council has built the city's first non-fluoridated water station at the Eastbourne Street bore.
The untreated water is being drawn from a natural aquifer and will still comply with the national drinking water standards.
Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule says it's been built for a group of residents who remain committed to the establishment of a non-fluoridated water supply.
A second drinking station will be built in March - both costing the council 30-thousand dollars.
