Amy Satterthwaite has guided the White Ferns to a five wicket win over Australia in the first Rose Bowl one-dayer at Eden Park's outer oval.
She's struck an unbeaten 102 to steer New Zealand to the 276 runs required for victory with five balls to spare.
White Ferns captain Suzie Bates earlier struck 55 opening the batting, while Katey Martin scored 43.
The second match is in Mt Maunganui on Thursday.
