There's a severe weather warning out for Westland, Buller, Wairarapa, Kapiti Horowhenua, Tararua and Wellington
MetService is predicting heavy rain for all those areas - accompanied by severe gales in Wellington and Wairarapa - gusting up to 120 kilometres an hour.
The front bringing the stormy weather is expected to move over southern and central New Zealand tonight and tomorrow.
