First Union is accusing the Warehouse of scaremongering at a union workers walk-out today.
It said the company brought in managers from around the region after staff when on strike in Rotorua.
Union organiser Kirsten Millar said employees who'd previously voted for a walkout backed down today when seeing the extra staff.
She said the extra bosses standing around the front door of the shop was very intimidating to employees.
"Your boss is standing right at the door and there's other bosses around, people are still worried that they're going to get in some kind of trouble but there's going to be some kind of repercussion for their actions."
The walk-outs across the country show worker's rejection of a 30 and 31 cent wage increase.
