Part of State Highway 2 is closed at Maramarua due to a two-truck crash.

A police spokesperson said they were called around 11.42am.

“Two people have sustained serious injuries and are being assisted by emergency services.

“The Serious Crash Unit have been notified.”

Diversions are in place from Monument Rd to Heaven Rd and motorists should expect delays.

NZ Transport Agency said the road was closed in both directions between Monument and Okaeria Rds.

“The road is expected to remain closed for some time so delay travel or be prepared to detour.”
