The arrest of 10 people at today's Hyde Street Party in Dunedin is being hailed as a good result.
Otago University Students' Association took over running the annual party in a street of student flats after unruly scenes in previous years embarrassed the university.
Furniture fires, roof collapses and abuse of emergency workers have all been issues in the past.
Today's event was ticketed and police say they worked closely with the student body in preparing for what they're calling a well-run event.
The arrests were mainly for trespass and disorderly behaviour.
