Police are investigating the indecent assault of a 14-year-old girl in Invercargill.

The teen was assaulted by a man on Charlotte Street on Friday between 9-9.30pm.

He's been described as being 180cm tall, was wearing a dark coloured puffer jacket and was last seen walking west on Charlotte Street.

The man was with two female associates who have been described as being of solid build and smoking cigarettes.
