Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a New Lynn barbershop overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Cutting Edge Barber Shop on Great North Rd at 3.16am.
Waitematā Crime Squad Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said fire crews quickly put out the flames and confirmed there were no injuries.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and a fire investigator is at the scene this morning.
Photos from the scene show extensive damage to the building.

In May last year, fire crews put out a large blaze at hair and beauty clinic The Chocolate Af’hair at the Onehunga Mall.
At the time, seven fire engines, three ladder trucks and two specialist vehicles worked to extinguish the blaze alongside numerous support vehicles and a fire investigator.
In August of the same year, an Auckland barber shop was badly damaged by an overnight fire – just months after its last salon was burned down.
That salon was on Weymouth Rd, Manurewa, and the fire, in January, was described at the time as suspicious.
