Tasman Search and Rescue are looking for a suspected missing tramper in the Nelson Lakes National Park after a backpack was found last night.

It was found near a river that runs along the track that links the Speargrass and Mount Angeles hut, and contained clothing and a sleeping bag.

Nelson police are asking anyone who lost a backpack in the area recently or may have information that could identify the owner, to get in contact.
