Never mind plain old super moons ... how about a super blue blood moon?
You will want to keep your eye on the sky on Wednesday night because you will see something spectacular.
For the first time since 1866, there will be a super blue blood moon.
Overnight on Wednesday, there will be a supermoon, a blue moon and a total lunar eclipse simultaneously.
Auckland University physics professor Richard Easther explains:
"There will be a total eclipse of the moon, it is also the second full moon in January which makes it a blue moon and it's also a supermoon because it's a full moon that happens when the moon is relatively close to the earth."
Easther said it will come on fairly slowly, and the best view will be in the early hours of Thursday morning.
"Because it is the moon it's obviously easy to find as it's the brightest thing in the sky, so as long as it's not cloudy you'll still be able to see it and even though some cloud it'll probably look pretty spectacular."
