Police are at a serious crash in South Auckland where a truck has hit a pedestrian.
The incident at the intersection of Savill Dr and Massey Rd in Māngere East was just before midday.
A police spokesperson said the pedestrian was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries.
“Diversions are in place, and traffic cannot currently turn onto Savill Drive from Massey Road. Please expect delays in the area.”
The serious crash unit and commercial vehicle safety team have been advised of the incident.
Earlier today, one person was injured in a crash on Auckland’s Northwestern Motorway, with traffic slowing to a crawl in both directions as emergency services clear the scene.

The crash was on the State Highway 16 causeway between Waterview and Te Atatū, according to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
Hato Hone St John said paramedics assessed a patient, who was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition.
Traffic cameras show heavy congestion for westbound vehicles, with city-bound traffic also slowing to a crawl.
“One lane has reopened, the right westbound lane remains blocked,” NZTA said.

Westbound traffic has stalled from the Waterview Connection interchange, while eastbound traffic has slowed significantly around the Patiki Rd and Rosebank Rd turn-offs.
Police have been approached for comment.
