Sean Plunket has resigned from the Broadcasting Standards Authority Board.
He's only been in the role a few weeks, but stirred controversy with a tweet asking whether anyone felt sympathy for Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood producer facing sexual harassment and rape allegations.
Mr Plunket says he's chosen to resign in the interests of the smooth running of the BSA.
He's wishing the board well in ensuring that the broadcast media adhere to practices which do not harm society in general or individuals in particular.
