Several roads in the Gore District are currently affected by flooding.

The Gore District Council’s roading department tells us MacGibbon Road – between SH1 at the Otikerama overbridge and Millane Road - is closed.

Also closed: Waiarikiki Road – between Hole and Corner Road and Tinker Road, and McGregor Road – at the ford

All these roads will be closed overnight.

Ponding remains an issue on some roads, and a number of gravel roads in the Gore area, although open and passable, have suffered superficial damage, so drivers need to take extra care.
