An accident at Tauranga's Omanawa Falls has prompted a complete safety review of the area.
A 38-year-old father and his 12-year-old son were badly injured as they tried to climb around a locked metal door leading down to a pool, at the bottom of the falls.
Tauranga City Council spokesman Warren Aitken says there are barriers, fences and signs stopping people, but they're often ignored.
He says in light of this latest incident the council will review the security of the entire site.
