(Warning: Video contains strong language)Â
NZ Bus is investigating an incident which saw men being racially abused while travelling in Wellington.
Noor Jabr recorded a man racially abusing other passengers she describes as young Indian men in their twenties.
In the video, which has been widely condemned on Facebook, the man is heard yelling 'go back to your country' and uses coarse language.
She says the abuse was largely anti-Muslim, and being a Muslim herself, Jabr began to fear for her safety.
"It was really scary. I was standing right behind him. I was freaking out. I was thinking any second he could turn around and slap me in the face or say something to me."
NZ Bus' Tonia Haskell says they're taking the incident seriously.
"We will investigate the incident fully from our perspective, and we have also handed the matter over to the police to deal with passenger involved."
