A team of police will be interviewing neighbours living near a homicide scene in Whangarei today.

About 10 officers are expected to return to Second Avenue, following the death of 56-year-old Michael Patrick Griffin.

Mr Griffin was found at the back of his house with serious head injuries last Sunday.

He was taken to Whangarei Hospital by ambulance but died there, his funeral was held yesterday.

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder.
