Police can now release the names of the two people who died in the crash on Sandy Road, Meeanee, on Thursday 2 August.
They were 31-year-old Janina Pascoe of Napier and 17-year-old Matiu Whatarau of Hastings.
Police extend their sympathies to their families at this difficult time.
The Serious Crash Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
