Police have named the man found dead in New Plymouth near the Wind Wand last month.
He was Martin James Mooney, 68, of New Plymouth.
Mooney was found with critical injures after an altercation on St Aubyn St just before 7pm on November 19 and died at the scene.
A 44-year-old man arrested at the scene was charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear in New Plymouth High Court on December 5.
Detective Sergeant Christoper Allemann of the New Plymouth CIB said the investigation into Mooney’s death was ongoing and they would like to hear from any potential witnesses.
