A man is dead after a hunting incident in rural Tararua.
Police were called to bushland near Dannevirke about 5.30pm on Friday.
The man died at the scene and a search and rescue team was sent to get the body.
A police spokesperson said investigations were underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
A coroner has also been advised.
