A person has died after becoming trapped under a car in East Auckland.
Police said they responded to an emergency call at 12.15pm from Highland Park.
"Initial reports suggest the man was pushing a vehicle down a driveway aboutÂ
12.15pm when he somehow became trapped underneath it.
"His next-of-kin have been notified and the death will be referred to theÂ
Coroner."
It is understood the incident happened on Pitlochry Place.
The street has been cordoned off. Several police car are at the scene.
Resident Donald Watson told Stuff police were the examining the car, which was parked in a driveway.
"They had the bonnet up and were looking in there and looking around."
He had not heard any noises around the time of the incident.
"There hasn't been a sound out of anything."
