More people are flocking to Canterbury, with the region's rebuild now in full swing.

Data released from Statistics New Zealand shows Christchurch's growth rate has jumped by two per cent for the end ending June 2014.

While the region was pipped at the post by Auckland, Selwyn and Waimakariri took out the top spots for the fastest growing territorial authority areas in New Zealand.

Canterbury now has over 570,000 residents.
