NZ Young Nats, a verified Twitter account associated with the New Zealand National Party, tweeted a meme that compared Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to Oprah Winfrey - and it didn't take long for the meme to be shut down.
On Friday afternoon, the account posted Ardern's face photoshopped on Oprah Winfrey's body in a photo from the iconic TV moment when Oprah announced everyone in the audience was getting a car.
Under the image, they wrote: "Every island gets more money".
Hey @hoskingonzb we made you Oprah of the islands! pic.twitter.com/gs9x04Ml2i

Twitter users accused the NZ Young Nats of being "racist" and reminded them that Tonga donated around $600,000 to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Fund.
Wow, Young Nats going full alt-right here. Surely @simonjbridges doesn't support this. https://t.co/I4gtMshHCH

We've had a fair bit of productivity out of those islands over the years. Not to mention high-scoring rugby games.

Your racist cynicism is dumbfounding and abhorrent. You might wanna check with Simon - he’s *trying* to say the @NZNationalParty has moved on
