The head of a Christchurch scaffolding company says the organiser of the controversial Monster Slide has left a string of broken promises behind him.
Structural Support and Panel's John Manson says his company is owed more than $34,000 for work done on the Christchurch leg of the event in early February.
He says Monster Slide CEO Jamie Templeton then offered to pay him $29,000 if he didn't go to the media.
"I was happy with that if he was paying that immediately, but he basically just pulled out of it."
In a statement, Monster Slide's Jamie Templeton says the dispute with Structural Support and Panel needs to be refereed to the disputes tribunal.
