UPDATED 4.44pm The driver of the milk-tanker involved in fatal crash in Patea last week, has died.

His death will be referred to the Coroner and is not being treated as suspicious.

Police say the man died suddenly, and his family have asked for privacy in relation to this "tragic incident".

Chantelle Giles, John Bayne and his sister Cherylene Bayne died and two others were injured in the fiery collision, which is believed to have happened as the car they were in was backing out of a driveway.
