The victim of a homicide in Manurewa has been identified on social media as Selwyn Robson.

Police said emergency services were called to a Mahia Rd property just before 10am on Tuesday after a report of a person seriously injured.

Tributes posted on social media have identified Robson, who has links to the Black Power gang.

Community members were wearing balaclavas as they watched the police gather evidence.

“Police are continuing to gather information from the scene and there will be an increased police presence in the area,” Vickers said yesterday.

A scene examination would continue today, and police wanted to speak to witnesses, Vickers said.
