A man who's admitted killing his son during a hunting trip to Stewart Island will seek a discharge without conviction.
Stephen Long has appeared in the Invercargill District Court this morning, where he's pleaded guilty to careless use of a firearm.
His son, 24 year old Samuel Long, was killed while hunting on Stewart Island in March.
Stephen Long will be sentenced in August.
He's been remanded at large.
