
A man has died in hospital a day after being hit by a car on a busy Christchurch street.
The “collision involving a car and pedestrian” happened on a busy Riccarton Rd about 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The pedestrian was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.
However, police have confirmed that they died in hospital yesterday.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing,” police said.
A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) earlier said they were called to a “motor vehicle crash” about 3.30pm.

Hato Hone St John said they were notified at 3.27pm, responding with an ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.
