A man has been charged with two counts of murder after two people were found dead in Hamilton, police say.
The 34-year-old man will appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow, Detective Inspector Stephen Ambler said.
Police were called to an address on York St in Hamilton East after two people were found dead just before 4pm, with Ambler telling media yesterday the deaths were being treated as unexplained.
“Later in the evening, an injured man presented himself at hospital, and officers connected the man to the deaths”, Ambler said this morning.
“Police would like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident, and we are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.
